LG G4 - Set the Default Location to Save Text Messages

In this tutorial you will learn how change the default location for storing text messages on the LG G4. No third party app is required, the new flagship smartphone from LG has a unique built-in feature allowing you to automatically save your text messages to the SD card instead of using the phone's internal storage.

Moving text messages to the SD card can be convenient when need to perform a factory reset of your smartphone (all your personal data stored on the phone storage will be wiped) and don't want to lose your precious conversations.

This setting can be configured by going to the Messaging app. Tap on the Menu button > Settings. Scroll to the General section > General Settings. Tap on Save to (default option: Phone Storage) and select SD card.
