Apple Watch - How to Turn off Fitness Tracking

The Apple Watch integrates a couple of features which will surely please sports or fitness enthusiasts. The Apple Watch can also be used as a fitness tracker, giving you real time information about workout session and helping you to achieve your fitness goals. The fitness tracking feature use your body movement to measure your fitness level, while the integrated heart rate sensor at the back of the Apple Watch can calculate the number of calories burned. Both are power hungry features that can rapidly deplete the battery life of your device.

This tutorial explains how to disable Motion and Fitness feature of the Apple Watch. The whole procedure is meant to be performed from the Apple Watch app installed on the companion iPhone.

Open the Apple Watch app. Go to My Watch > General Settings > Privacy > Motion and Fitness. Toggle Heart Rate and Fitness Tracking off:
