This simple tutorial explains how to share the 3G/4G/LTE connection of your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with other devices via Wi-Fi or USB in a couple of easy steps. But prior to this operation make sure that your current mobile data plan allows you to use your mobile as a portable hotspot. Some operators charge an extra for this option.
Enable and configure the Mobile Hotspot
The first step is to enable the Mobile Hotspot feature. Go to Settings
> Tethering and hotspot
and toggle Mobile Hotspot
on. Once enabled, tap on the Menu
button (3 small dots) appearing at the top right corner of your screen and then select Configure hotspot
. Choose a Network SSID
(the name of hotspot), Security
protocol (choose WPA2 SPK
to protect the access to your mobile hotspot with a password) and finally click on Save
That's it; you can now connect your other device(s) to your mobile hotspot via Wi-Fi or using USB cable.
