There are several reasons why your system is unable to download the Windows 10 update, so here are some tips that can help you to solve this issue:
Turn off your Firewall and Antivirus software
Windows 10 is available as an update for your current OS, so you better check if a security program installed on your PC is preventing
Windows Update Services (SVCHOST) from accessing the Internet. Temporarily disable your firewall, anti-spyware and antivirus software, and then proceed with the download. Open your antivirus settings and disable real-time protection. As for the firewall, go to the
Control Panel >
Windows Firewall Turn Windows Firewall on or off and then select
Turn off Windows Firewall:
To restore the update process: click on the
Get Windows 10 taskbar icon >
View download progress:

In most cases the firewall and antivirus software are the culprits. The download of Windows 10 should resume normally once they are disabled:
NB: Turning off your firewall and antivirus software will make your computer vulnerable to infections or hacking attempts, so it's better to limit your online activities during this period of time.
Restart the Windows Update Service
If the above solution doesn't work, you can always try to restart the Windows Update service.
Open a
command prompt and then type the
net stop wuauserv command to stop the Windows update service and then
net start wuauserv to restart the latter.
