Pinterest - Display Web Notifications

You want to be informed when something new happens on Pinterest (someone start following you, invite you to join a board...)? Here's how to configure Pinterest to display pop-up notifications (also known as desktop notifications or web notifications) from within your web browser. This procedure was performed with the Google Chrome web browser, but it also works for Safari and Opera.

Step 1 - Allow Google Chrome to display web notifications

Open Google Chrome and go to Settings > Show advanced settings > Privacy > Content Settings:

Go to Notifications, select Allow all sites to show notifications and then click on Finished:

NB: If you don't want to allow web notifications for all websites, then click on Manage exceptions and then create a rule for pinterest.com.

Step 2 - Allow Pinterest to display web notifications

Connect to your Pinterest account and go to your Profile page. Click on the Cog button > Settings. Scroll to the Notifications section > On your Desktop and toggle the Chrome browser notifications switch to Yes:

Click on Save settings.

That's it; web notifications have been enabled for Pinterest. Each time an event occurs on your account, a small popup notification will be displayed next to the Customize and Control Google Chrome menu.

A few words of thanks would be greatly appreciated.
