Turn Off Automatic Artist Following in iTunes

iTunes enables you to view updates (new albums, ongoing projects, pictures, and videos) and interact with your favorite artists through a new service called Apple Music Connect.

By default, iTunes will automatically start following artists on Apple Music when you add their songs to your music library. However, if you've already made up your mind about who you want to follow on Apple Music, there's a simple trick to disable automatic artist following in iTunes.

Stop iTunes from Automatically Following Artists on Apple Music

Turn Off "Automatically Follow Artists" in iTunes

Open iTunes and sign in with your Apple ID. Click on your profile badge displayed at the top-right corner of your screen and then click on the small arrow displayed next to your username:

Clear the Automatically Follow Artists checkbox and click on Save:

Turn Off "Automatically Follow Artists" on the Music App

Open Apple Music and then tap on the profile badge displayed at the top left corner to access the Account settings. Tap on Following and toggle the Automatically follow artist option Off:

How To Follow/Unfollow Artists on Apple Music

To follow someone on Apple Music, simply visit his profile page and tap on Follow button.

To unfollow someone on Apple Music, go to Account settings > Following and tap on the Unfollow button displayed next to the desired artist.
