Enhanced Messaging on the S6

Enhanced messaging is a feature exclusive to the Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, and Note 5. It enables users to send personalized text messages (emojis, animation, or handwritten messages), host group chats, and share media files in their original format (uncompressed). Here are the instructions on enabling Enhanced Messaging on your device.

Activate Enhanced Messaging on the S6

Open the Messages app and tap on More > Settings. Next, tap on Enhanced messaging and accept the terms of use:

Enter your phone number when prompted. You'll then receive a verification code that will enable you to activate Enhanced Messaging on your device:

Once everything is set up, tap on Back to exit the Settings screen.

How To Send Enhanced Messages with the S6

You can send enhanced messages using your phone's default messaging app. Open the Messages app and create a new message. Tap on the small button displayed at the right corner of the Add recipient field to view your address book:

Tap on the All Contacts menu and select Enhanced Messaging to sort your contacts:

Choose the desired contact(s) and tap on Send.
