The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
features a built-in spam filter
that enables you to block unsolicited text messages. Here's how to block and filter spam messages on your mobile phone.
Block and Filter Spam on the Galaxy S6
Open the Messages
app and tap on the More
menu > Settings
. Tap on Spam filter
and then choose the most appropriate method to block spam messages:
Tap on Manage spam numbers
to open your Address book
and blacklist specific phone numbers:
Tap on Manage spam phrases
to create a blacklist using specific keywords or phrases. Your smartphone will indiscriminately block messages that contain matching words or phrases (not case sensitive):
There's always a risk that the spam filter
blocks some of your legitimate SMS messages. You should regularly check for the presence of such messages in the spam folder. To do this, go to Messages Settings
> Spam Filter
> Spam messages
to view the content of the spam folder.
