Removing Alpha Antivirus scam

Be careful of Alpha Antivirus, this is a fake antivirus (scam), which main purpose is to steal money and isn’t reliable at all! Alpha Antivirus, at start will be displaying fake warning alerts that your system is infected with lots of threats such as viruses and spywares! Then will ask you to use your credit card to purchase the antivirus to remove these fake infections!!

Name: Alpha Antivirus
Type: Rogue Security Program

You will learn how to manually remove this fake application from your system:

  • Step1 – Killing the Process
    • Press CTRL+SHIFT+Del to open Task Manager
    • Click on the Processes Tab
    • Locate: AlphaAntivirus.exe,
    • click on End Task
  • Step 2 – Removing Alpha Antivirus files, folders and associated DLL files

Erase everything related to:

Alpha Antivirus.lnk
Uninstall Alpha Antivirus.lnk

Access these location and delete:

C:\Program Files\Alpha Antivirus
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Alpha Antivirus
C:\Documents and Settings%\All Users\Application Data\Alpha Antivirus

Step 3 – Remove Alpha Antivirus registry entries:



    • Open Registry Editor, click on Start > Run > type: regedit then press Enter
    • Locate and delete:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run “Alpha Antivirus”
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Alpha Antivirus
