Reset Master Password in Firefox

Like many other browsers, Firefox offer the option to store your passwords for different sites. All these passwords are protected by a master password in Firefox.

Note that: If you forget your master password, you not only lose all your passwords, but you can not disable the master password (and therefore impossible to ask new Firefox to remember passwords).

If you've forgotten the master password, you can not uncheck this box:

How to reset the master password?
  • Launch Firefox and type this in the address bar: chrome://pippki/content/resetpassword.xul
  • Press Enter
  • Click on the Reset button.
  • Note: Click on this button you will lose all saved passwords in Firefox.
