Calling Internationally with Verizon

Ask a question
Calling abroad to stay in touch with friends and family, or for business, can get expensive. Verizon customers in the U.S. can call internationally, but it is suggested that you get an International Calling plan. If you do not have an International Calling plan and you call abroad, Verizon’s International Long-Distance Rates will apply. More information on Verizon’s options for international calls can be found here.

Get an International Call Plan

To add international direct-dial to your service plan, call Verizon’s customer Service center at 1-800-VERIZON (1-800-837-4966). Alternatively, you can visit a store location, download the My Verizon app, or go to the My Verizon website to upgrade your service plan.

How To Call Internationally

To find out how to call internationally from the U.S. and to discover the associated fees, visit Verizon’s International Calling page and enter the country that you would like to call. This will provide dial instructions and an overview of Verizon’s fees, based on the location.

Alternatively, the general practice to call internationally is to begin with 011 + the Country Code + the Phone Number that you are trying to reach. A list of country codes can be found here.
