How To Determine if Your Phone Qualifies for Transfer to AT&T Wireless

Ask a question
AT&T offers a bring your own phone program. This allows you to bring an old phone to activate AT&T mobile service, as opposed to purchasing a new phone. As a new AT&T customer you will only need to replace the SIM in your device when switching services. However, it’s important to check that your device qualifies and is compatible. Here, you will find out how to check if your phone is eligible online.

Check If Your Phone Is Compatible With AT&T

Visit the AT&T Bring Your Own Phone page, and scroll down to enter your device's IMEI Number. Click Check IMEI number. If you can’t find it, select your device type and the brand, then find your specific device model from the options presented. Next, click Continue. You will, then, be provided with instructions on how to find your device’s IMEI.

Enter it, then select Continue. On the next page, you will have a response on your device’s capability with AT&T’s Wireless Service.

N.B. Confirm that your device is unlocked before transferring service, and make a backup of your device’s data before initiating a transfer.
