Opening Network Stream with VLC


VLC, allows you to view a video from Youtube, Dailymotion or other major video Streaming sites such as metacafe.

Why read a Youtube video on VLC, YouTube is already doing great?

That may still prove effective for instance, if your plugin of Adobe Flash plugin does not work ...

Getting started

  • Launch VLC
  • Media
  • Select "Open Network Stream"

A window appears:

  • In the "Protocol" choose your protocol (http for our case). As you can see, you can even specify your port.
  • Copy the link from Streaming and paste into the input box, click to read.
