Windows XP - Stop 0x000000A5 Error

During the installation of Windows XP, a stop message error of 0x000000A5 sometimes gets displayed on the monitor. The generic problem is with the BIOS computer settings which are found to be non-compatible with the standards of ACPI. Due to the non-compatibility of BIOS setup with ACPI standards, it is required to go to the BIOS settings and then select the option of 'ACPI'. If the user is not able to find the option of 'ACPI' in the system BIOS settings, the only alternative is to visit the website of the manufacturer. It is required to find out whether a new version of the BIOS settings is available online or not.

During Windows XP installation, the following message stop error appears on your screen:


This error message indicates that the computer BIOS is not fully compatible with the ACPI standard. To remedy this, go to the BIOS setup and then select "ACPI".


If this option is not present, please visit the manufacturer website and check if a new BIOS version is available.
