Firefox - Managing your bookmarks
There exist several ways to save and restore your Firefox bookmarks.
Firefox format : The links can be restored with all versions of Firefox and on any type of machine.
HTML format: The links can be restored on all browsers.
Saving your bookmarks
Using the Firefox format
- Under Firefox, go to Bookmarks.
- Click on "Organize bookmarks".
- Click on "Import and Backup".
- Click "Save".
- Save the file to the desired location.
Using the HTML format
- Under Firefox, go to Bookmarks.
- Click on "Organize bookmarks".
- Click on "Import and Backup".
- Click on "Export as HTML"
- Save the file to the desired location.
Restore your bookmarks under Firefox
Under Firefox, go to Bookmarks.
- Click on "Organize bookmarks".
- Click on "Import and Backup.
- Click on "restore"
- Click on "Choose File".
- Select the backup file created.
- Confirm by clicking OK.
Restore the bookmarks using another browser
- Locate the bookmarks backup file.
- Select "Open With"
- Select "Internet Explorer" (or other browser)
- Save links.
