After after a virus infection, it may be necessary to remove restore points, as some of them are infected.
Note that: As from Windows 7, you can remove the restore points without disabling the SystemRestore feature.
  • Click the Windows logo(Start Button), right click on "Computer" then click "Properties":
  • Then click on "System Protection".
  • Click on "Configure".
  • To disable System Restore, select "Disable System Protection" then click "Apply". If you want to simply delete the restore points, click "Delete" and confirm by clicking on "Yes".
  • Confirm the operation.
  • To Enable the system restore, just select "Restore my system settings and previous versions of files" instead of "Disable system protection" and then confirm with "Apply".
