Is there a native FTP client under Mac?

Issue

I would like to know if there is a native FTP client for Mac that is able to connect to an FTP server. (for version 10.5 or 10.6 of Mac OSX)

Solution

  • In the Finder menu Go> Connect to Server (or CMD + K).
  • Enter: ftp://ip_of_server or ftp://name_of_server
  • A window will appear asking you for login/password.
  • It is possible to store the address the server by clicking the little + to the right of the address bar.
  • Otherwise, there is always Filezilla, Transmit, Cyberduck and many other software that can fit this role.
