Ubuntu - Unzip rar, 7z, arj, lzh files

Ubuntu, the free or open source operating system using Linux distribution has many features that have made computing a convenient exercise. Under Ubuntu , one can unzip rar,7z ,arj, and lzh compressed files.This extracting process can be done easily done on this OS with the help of various commands. Through this process, files in rar, 7z, arj, and lzh formats can be zipped and unzipped. Now, file storage and transfer of files is very easy.

In a console type:
  • sudo aptitude install p7zip-full rar arj lha 
  • This will enable you to zip/unzip the following file formats: .7z, .rar, .arj et .lzh
  • Right click and select Create archive then right click select Extract here
