A few words of thanks would be greatly appreciated.

Vista Update error: Error 8007000b

While downloading an update for Windows Vista, I'm prompted with the following error message:
Error 8007000b

This error implies that the transaction log of the Windows file system is damaged.
  • Start> in the search bar type: cmd
  • Make a right click of the Command Prompt icon and choose Run as administrator
  • Once the command prompt is opened (as administrator), type the following command:
  • fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\
  • Restart the computer.
  • Download and reinstall the update.

Note that: It is important that you specify the partition on which Vista is installed (in this example it is C:\).
