Word - Select text vertically

[Word] Select text vertically

As we've been able to observe, in Word, when I select some text in a document, the selection is made horizontally (left-clicking and dragging the cursor up or down)
For example:

However, it is possible to make a vertical selection of text. This may be practical if you want to copy and paste just the beginning and end of each line of a document.
To activate this feature:
  • Simultaneously press Shift + Ctrl + F8
  • The cursor "|" change the default black color to blue.

To select text vertically, position the cursor at the beginning of the text, left click and drag the cursor up or down.

To return to the horizontal selection: back to press the Shift + Ctrl + F8
