Acer Travelmate 290 display doesn't work

Hello,

my acer travelmate 290 has been left unused for a long time .and when I am ready to use it , it starts then after that it just blink the light which has a disk symbol on it then it stays like that without displaying anything . but the reason I'm confused is that the light which has a globe symbol stays on . Please assist me
