Hi, here is how to do it :
  • Tap “Me” button in bottom-right corner (or profil picture in top-left corner).
  • Select “Notifications.”
  • Toggle the “Do Not Disturb” switch.
  • Choose the duration of the Mute option.

For Android :
Here is how to turn off new contact updates on Facebook Messenger.

For iOS :

Go to Settings / Privacy / Upload Contacts and turn it off. Then, Facebook will not be able to upload your contacts.

Then, go to facebook.com and delete what they already imported: https://www.facebook.com/login.php?next=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fcontact_importer%2Fremove_uploads.php%3Fr%3D%252Fphonebook

Facebook will not be able to bother you anymore each time one of your contact is on Messenger.

On messenger via IOS there is a updates tab. It shows people I contacted or recently added on fb. This is what I’m trying to get rid of. The previous comments have shown how to do it on android but for IOS I require I different route. I tried everything said here and still unaccomplished. Thanks

Yes I did. That is dealing with phone contacts which is irrelevant here. What you asked me to do previously on a android phone and what you are telling me to do on the iOS, accomplish two completely different things. I still did what you told me to and that only stopped uploaded contact updates. In messenger there is a updates section that I want to turn off. You had it right in the beginning with the android. But that’s not how u turn it off on ios.

Could you please send a capture of how you managed to turn it off on iOS in order to help other users? :)
