Mouse pad works until I log on from the windows (10) screen

Hello,

This is a 5 yrs old Toshiba Satellite laptop.

Mouse pad and cursor okay till I log on to my machine using Microsoft password. Then Keypad stops working and cursor disappears. Was using peripheral mouse but left it home today.
