Lost access to my Instagram

Hello, A couple of days ago Instagram was down and after about 12 hours of no access I began to think that it was just on my phone. I looked on the Web and someone had suggested logging out and then logging back in. I did this and was presented with a 2 factor authentication notice asking me to retrieve a six digit number from my Authenticator App. I did not set up 2 factor authentication on my Instagram and so can't supply the code. Consequently I am now locked out for what looks to be forever. I have contacted Instagram but have had no reponse. Can anybody help?
