Lost access to settings in Instagram

Hello, I lost the ability to access my profile. When I search my page/account I don't see the 3 bars on the upper right to access my settings and profile. Also when I click on the app icon--iphone--it does not go to a login page, it goes direct to the last user I was following. When I click on the bottom right icon it does not go to my profile (my profile picture is not on the button), I have to search to get to my Instagram page--I'm a new user.
