Cannot gain access to old account/or create new account

OK SO, I cannot log into instagram with my old email account. "wrong password" I try and use the forgot password link, and get "no users found"

SO, I went, and created a completely NEW email address, and it still tells me that that email account is in use.

Am i missing something with trying to get my old account back?
and whats going on with trying to create a new one..
