All icons have changed to .lnk and the fix listed is not working.

Hello,

All of my icons have changed to .lnk files. I’ve tried to follow the instructions for this fix by using the Registry editor and following through to the .lnk files. In my case, there is nothing under .lnk named “user choice” to delete. My only options are “open with list” or “open with progids”
What do I do now?

System Configuration: iPhone / Safari 13.1.2
