Acer desktop stuck on login

Hello,
my acer desktop is stuck on the login screen where the clock is. the numbers still tick up but mouse and keyboard input do not work. i can’t even open the bios menu on startup, the computer does not detect when i press f12. i even tried with a different mouse and still nothing. how can i fix this?
