Encryption issue

On February 19th I decided to switch to encrypted backup. I was advised not to make manual backups
before the encryption process is complete. At the moment that process is still ongoing, after 70 days. The result is that I am no longer able to make regular backups. I have written 4 times to WhatsApp support, but their answers are completely incompatible with my starting question, as they evidently only use automatic responders. Please give me some advice to solve this ridiculous situation. Thanks.
