Instagram hacked but linked to facebook

My facebook and instagram accounts are linked. Recently my instagram was hacked. The hacker has not been able to enter my facebook because I changed my password on my fb account for security. If I try to log into instagram using my linked facebook page, is it safe? Can the hacker gain access to my facebook account? Can anyone help?
