How to recover chat history on iphone/mac

Hello,

When traveling out of the country I bought an android and switched my whatsapp account to that phone. It deleted years of messages on my phone and laptop and would love to get them back(I did not have a google account or backup tied to it). Now home I have an Imac which I believe should have that original few years of chats. Is there a way to get that info, or when I switch back to the iphone will that info stay there? Thanks in advance.
