I am writing here as I am hoping someone will be able to help me. I will do my best to explain the situation clearly:
I have been using Instagram on my phone for several years, and recently acquired a new laptop. I wanted to log into my account on the laptop to so I could use either device to go on Instagram.
I do not remember my password for my account, so I requested a link to reset it. I made several attempts, and each time the email is for another account I have set up in the past, but that has no posts, no followers, and on which I am not following anyone.
I have used the same email address to set this second account that I am currently using (that was until last night, when I logged out, and now I can't get back in). This account is the one containing my posts, my followers, and on which I follow other accounts. I do not know how to reset the password for this account, which is what I need to do. In other words:
I set up account A using email address 1.
I set up account B using email address 1.
I want to get back into account B, but the emails I have received were all for account A, so they did not help.
I have also requested text messages, but I would always get an error message when I was trying to follow the link provided.
I no longer receive emails or texts if I make further attempts.
All I need is to reset the password for account B. I have contacted Instagram support, but I am not holding my breath, as I've read in several sources that they don't always answer to support requests.
