Upgraded iPhone. How can I tell if I missed any messages?

I upgraded to an iPhone 14 2 weeks ago (keeping the same phone number, just a phone upgrade). I figured WhatsApp would automatically keep working with the new phone. I was wrong. Today I opened up the app for the first time since then, and it said that my phone number needed to be confirmed on the new phone and also asked me to re-enter my name. So I did so.

I take this to mean that WhatsApp was in fact not working on my new phone for the past 2 weeks. And I'm very concerned that I have missed messages sent to me over that period that are now not showing up.

My chats look accurate up until the point when I did the upgrade. But is there any way to tell if I missed any messages during the past 2 weeks? I.e. is there any specific way to confirm that a given chat is fully "updated" with all messages displayed?
