Word doc file from Mac 10.4 laptop to iPhone?

Is there a program like DiskAid (which is for Mac OS 10.5) that allows one to transfer a Word document from a mac (with OS 10.4.11) to an iPhone (version 3.1)? I'd like to do this to be able to work in Word on my mac, then transfer Word files to my iPhone, then email them from the iPhone when WiFi isn't available. Thanks!-- Carol
