Problems with blacking screen

Hello,

I have a Dell touch screen computer on which the screen has suddenly started going black, it satyed on for a while to begin with but now goes black as soon as i have clicked on the startup picture icon, so can not do, as some have suggested, ie go into start etc, it does not give me time, are there any cures out there for this problem i would appreciate any help. thanks
