My mouse is not working on my laptop

Hello,

I put in a new motherboard on an acer 5515 laptop, I broke the key board ordered a new one. The mouse don't work, Is it because I don't have the keyboard Attached to the computer? All the drivers are there. It,ll be a couple days before I get my new keyboard.I'm
worried I'm worried I'm not going to have a working mouse when I hook up the keyboard.
It's not my computer I'm fixing it for someone and they would like it back as soon as possible.
