My audio stopped working

Hello,

A few days ago my audio stopped working. I tried to update the SB driver, but the update installer said that the SoundBlaster () Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS (WDM) ) card was not installed. But the device driver says that "This device is working properly." I have XP. I followed all the trouble shoot steps, to no avail. I get no sounds either from the speaker or from headphones, including system sounds. That's when I tried to update the drivers in case the old ones were corrupted. I have recently installed more memory, but that was a few weeks ago. I had some disk errors and ran check disk. I don't know that it has made any sounds since the check disk.
