Fixing an oops (windows XP/Windows 7)

I have this older computer I was going to use as my main desktop. I put Windows 7 on it and it ended up FUBARing the display. I want to put it's old operating system, Windows XP, on it so I can sell it and get all it's clutter out of my room. How do I go about doing this? I do still have the startup CD.
