Gateway N214 wont boot

Hello!

I am trying to diagnose my friends dead netbook. Its a gateway N214. When I push the power button it lights up green and if the battery is connected, that will light up green as well. And thats all it does. I have tried to hold the power button, disconnect the power plug and nothing seems to change. Any suggestions I would certainly appreciate it!
