Receiving false virus error when opening pdf

I have read all the threads on how to fix but I am not finding anything on Malwarebytes anti malware program. Does anyone know which box I should click off under settings so it will not scan my PDF documents. This began happening two weeks ago. Very frustrated. I already deleted the MaGaffee protection.
