Gateway laptop model no. SA6

Hi, quick question. my gateway laptop model no. sA6 has completely stopped working. and whenever the charger is plugged into the computer and into the power outlet on the wall, the light on the charger starts blinking and i can hear noises from my computer every time the light blinks on the charger. it was running smoothly off of windows 8. WHAT YOU THINK COULD BE THE PROBLEM???
