Whoa, Google chrome has crashed and IE can't connect

Hello, I have an HP tc4400, my internet connection is excellent but when I try n connect, I get Google has crashed n IE can't connect. I need my comp as this is my work. I tried system restore but says was unsuccessful. I created a back up image on a flash drive but not very comp literate. Plz help
