Toshiba Satellite screen will not come on

I have a Toshiba satellite L645D-S4033. I've had it for about three years. A few of the keys have stopped working and the charger that came with it has a shortage in it. So I bought a USB keyboard and today I bought a universal charger so I could power it up again. I haven't used it in about 5 months. Today when I tried to use the universal charger for the first time, I turned the power button on and the startup screen came on, but it wouldn't go past the startup repair screen. It just shut off. I tried again and the same thing happened. After multiple attempts, the screen would just not show up at all even though all the lights on the bottom of the laptop came on. I tried holding down the power button for 60 seconds while the battery was out and still no luck. What could be the problem?
