Laptop history of connected wifi iv been on disappears

Hello I am having this problem with my laptop where all of my history of connected wifi iv been on disappears and I cant connect wireless.I would have to connect on the enthernet cable.The wifi works fine as it connects to phone,tablets, and other laptops. I am using windows 8 hp lapto dont knnow the name of my laptop too please have mercy.. Please note that i need this step by step because Im not good at finding a certin thing like say something that you would have go through setting,something I dont know,something I didnt know exist. I will reply to only say thank you and give more info on this.
