I have a ASUS laptop and its them laptops that dont have a batte

Hello,
My laptop (ASUS) doesn't have a battery but when I turn it on and enter my password in, it seems to just come on with a black screen, giving me access to internet but nothing else. WHAT DO I DO?! Thanks! :) Also the last thing I want to do is give it to repair because last time they took £80 for just that and I don't want to pay that much again! Many thanks
