Notebook brightness key not working

Hello,
I've purchased msi notebook U180 it's brightness works just fine I can control it by manually and either by using a shortcut function key just before the windows 7 booting and now after booting all keys work fine with function key combination except brightness key what should I do??? I don't know which solution is best or either applying that will harm my laptop in any way !!
