Screen blank

Hello,
I have a HP Windows laptop. Non touch screen. I am able to log on and everything. But after log in, my screen stays blank. And all I can see is the mouse. Even when I hit the "Windows" button. Nothing but the mouse and pop ups show. How do I fix this?
