3 sims expansion packs and the game only crashes

Hello,
Somebody please read this :( right basically i have an old toshiba laptop (don't judge) and I've only got 3 sims expansion packs and the game only crashes if i go into build mode or create a sim if i play the game another way it works perfectly how can i stop it from crashing ever? I've tried everything and somebody must have some type of suggestion because its only 3 expansion packs :/
