Multiple email copies

When I send an email From my gmail account I get upto 60 copies of that email being placed in the trash, even though the mail is successfully sent and received.
This happens on my MacBook Pro apple mail, and also on the actual G Mail account online.

Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.
