I just installed Mac Mavericks so I could install a more recent version of Avid Media Composer (have been working fine so far on Lion OS X). Nevertheless, since installing the new OS X, it seems that the Mac Installer app isn't working - every installation I open goes to a blank screen (I can see for just a fraction of a second the installation window before it goes blank). I can't install any new .dmg or .pkg files. Java is up to date.
Is there some way to fix the installer? Or should I reinstall the OS X? If so, is it absolutely necessary to back up everything? (I didn't back up to install Mavericks, but I've been reading now that data loss is possible in the process - good luck so far, I guess)
I really need this program as soon as possible, any help is appriciated!
